I am often asked, during my campaign for 57th Assembly, is “what do you hope to accomplish? Why are you running?”
The honest answer is that I am a concerned citizen, tired of the infighting and inefficiencies of our government. Here in the Fox Valley we have a lot of small and medium size enterprises. We rejoice in a wide array of cultural perspectives and opportunities: great education, great housing and great health care.
I want to make a difference and be a strong, committed voice for Fox Valley and Wisconsin. I plan to focus on supporting those who need the support, getting them back on their feet and working at or starting their own Fox Valley businesses.
Here are just a few examples of bills that I feel could be proposed to help our state, county, and city governments run more efficiently:
- Starting in 2022, all regularly-scheduled elections will occur in even-numbered years. This will help county and city governments save the money that they spend to administer elections in odd-numbered years.
- Starting in 2024, during presidential election years, Wisconsin will hold a primary election (for all offices) in March. This will help county and city governments save the money that they spend to administer a primary for president and a later primary for all other offices.
In the spirit of our state motto, let’s move Wisconsin forward.
